This stuff scares me....

I don't know why I insist on reading dystopia-type books. I just love 'em. Animal Farm, 1984, Brave New World, A Handmaiden's Tale... I just love that genre of books. Apocalyptic books, too. I mean, really, what else is the Left Behind series, right?

Lately, I've also been reading dystopia-esque non-fiction lately, too. And it scares me. What I am reading now would certainly qualify as one of those types of books. It scares me.

Maybe I scare too easily. I just have this horrible feeling that in 50 years, no one will be able to publicly proclaim themselves as Christians or even mention God in any way that isn't cursing.

I really should read fluffier books.

But if anyone has any good dystopia books, let me know (let's aim for fiction, though!)

GO DUCKS!

Okay, I haven't updated in 2 or 3 weeks - shame on me. I need to correct some stuff on my other pages - I've found typos and junk. Need to get on that. But this weekend will be busy, I think, so I don't know if I'll get it done then.

Speaking of this weekend, we're going to do a little land shopping on Saturday. Dan and I have about 5 properties between 2 and 5 acres that we want to look at to see if we want to buy. We've just started looking so I'll be surprised if we hit on anything tomorrow, but we sure won't find anything if we don't look, right?

But on to important news. The Might Ducks won Round 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs!!! Woo hoo! Tonight is the first game of Round 2. The Ducks play the Colorado Avalanche today at 7:00pm PST. GO DUCKS!

And some cute Ducks' news... and duck news:

A New Duck Calls the Arrowhead Pond Home

While the NHL’s Mighty Ducks of Anaheim headed to Calgary for Game 7 against the Flames, one duck stayed behind to guard the nest… literally.

A new duck is calling the Arrowhead Pond home and she is not interested in goals, power plays or penalty minutes, she is busy working to hatch nine eggs.

Her nest is located just outside the Southeast concierge at the Arrowhead Pond and the arena has taken the necessary steps to protect her including barricade, signs and even her own security guard during the day and all arena events.

She has not yet asked for a television to watch Game 7 which airs tonight at 6pm on KDOC-TV. Check your local channel guide for KDOC-TV or click here for a complete Southern California channel listing.
