Events!

It's been brought to my attention that my blog has been rather quiet lately. Sorry about that, just not too much has been going on. I've been kind of tired lately since my shoulder is still hurting (chiro appointment is impending, though) and a tired me is a less chatty, less bloggy me. Well, that and not much has been going on in life lately.

But that changed a bit yesterday when Dan and I went to the parents' SPAF (single-purpose agricultural facility). As of September 1 my parents have officially moved out of their house and moved into the SPAF's apartment. It's a drastic decrease in size and I was a little leery of the whole thing (cause I know I would probably get pretty testy moving from our house into a less-than-700-square-foot-apartment) but honestly? Their new place is really nice. Sure, it's one big room (and a bathroom) but they have it set up so it's nice and homey and comfortable. Doesn't feel cramped at all and totally makes me think I could do something like that. But okay, with seven cats it might be a little more interesting for us than with my parents and their two cats, but anyway.

So Dan and I went visiting (and ate super-tasty food) and I took a few pictures. Yay for slideshows! (It's a short one.)

I'm also learning something new in photography: HDR, or high dynamic range images. Basically, instead of taking just one picture (like this):

Original Fence

You take three (or more) differently exposed photographs of the same scene and combine them to make something more like this:

Gate

I'm still figuring it out but think I'm slowly getting a handle on it. I hope. It's fun to play with, at least.

And speaking of fun, I have kitty-related news! Last week was Bitty's birthday!

Cute Bitty

I forgot that her birthday is in September (the 13th to be exact) so now she's officially seven years old. I still think she looks like a kitten.

In other news, after months of my pestering, Dan has put in shower doors in the guest bathroom. Yay! No pictures yet (if they come at all) since I've changed out the bathmats and now need something for the walls in the bathroom (since the echo-reducing and decorating shower curtain is now gone) so the room is still "unfinished" but I'm quite happy to have the doors. No more shower curtains trying to eat me when I shower.

In sad other news, I have officially closed the pool. Boo! But the weather has gotten cooler and all over cloudier the past two weeks and I haven't been getting any pool time, so I thought I'd face the fact that summer is over. So the pool is being drained and will be packed up for next year.

So that's the main event-ness happening now. Nothing too exciting but enough to eek out a blog post. Ta-da!
