Just a little check in to touch on the few event-type things going on in life.
I'm still making regular chiropractic visits for cracking, pain and pointy bits. My shoulder is improving though it would probably do better if I treated it a bit nicer and stopped re-hurting it. I'm not good at being less than 100%. On the plus side, I do really like my chiro so I'm not having any problem with regular visits. And considering she's only 20 minutes away and my old chiropractor is 45+ minutes away, thrice weekly trips to her are much easier on me than if I were still going to my far away chiro-man. She's hoping that I'll be up to snuff enough at the end of this week to assign me some physical therapy exercises to increase my shoulder strength. Yay?
In more crafty news, I've sort of finished my most recent crochet project and it looks super-pretty. I say "sort of" because I still have to block it, which I was going to do this weekend but didn't. So this week I'll get it done and see about getting some pictures. I'm really please with it and already have a shawl pin picked out to buy for it. Whee!
Of course, since I've finished the crochet project, I'm finally learning how to knit! So far I think I can say I've master the knit and purl stitches. I'm doing my practice/learning knitting on circular needles and ultimately nothing will result in my teaching-myself-to-knit project other than a short tube made out of cheap acrylic thread but at least I'm actually knitting. While this is just practice, my next knitting will be an actual project. It'll be a circular scarf and I think I'm going to use the pretty gray Noro yarn I got a few months ago (previously posted pic below) because it is so pretty and cushy and I think it will make a great scarfy thing. As for why I didn't get around to blocking my crocheted wrap, Dan and I did some major reorganization to our garage this weekend. Last Christmas he got some stuff to hang things on the wall and the weather has finally cooled enough so we were able to get into the garage and get those up. We also inherited a large metal cabinet which we finally put in a permanent home (instead of standing in front of Dan's work bench) and we moved a bookshelf around, too. All this was to make sure Dan had room for his recently purchased fridge which is necessary for his new hobby: beer making. His beer making supplies (of the non-fridge variety) should be in this week so I think next weekend will have some beer brewing (or fermenting or whatever it is he will be doing) going on. Either that or he'll be wiring up the thermostat for the fridge. I can't quite remember when he said he was planning on doing things but you can bet I'll be monitoring it and blogging about it. I mean, come on! Home-made beer!
As you can see, life has been relatively uneventful lately. (At least for me. I think Dan's upcoming beer-ness rates a higher level of excitement in Dan's life than it does mine.) As a further indication about how less than super-thrilling (but in a content, happy way) life has been, joy was brought to me by UPS and USPS last week. Yes, my life is so uneventful that excitement now comes by delivery! Of course, that's mostly because it was tea and I think tea is fairly exciting. My tea pantry had gotten pretty thin - below 65 teas which is shocking for me as I tend to see getting below 100 an accomplishment and have gotten as high as over 130 - so I placed a couple of orders. First, my SerendipiTEA order showed up, then a couple of hours later my Adagio order did. Then, right after that, I got this email from Adagio: Thank you, UPS for my package that you "left with woman." Woman appreciates it.
I think that pretty much covers life right now. Shoulder slowly un-hurting, crochet to be blocking, knitting happening but in a non-productive-other-than-learning way, beer-making imminent and lots of new teas to enjoy. Life is uneventful, but good!
