It has taken me a shameful amount of time, but as of today, I have officially introduce myself to my sewing machine. I even made a mini-project to practice!Okay, it's not a really the best made project. I didn't have a pattern and it was a learning project so there are a few things that... well, were learning experiences. But it is usable and I learned how to make buttonholes so I consider it a win all the way around. Also, I totally love my sewing machine! Yay!
Now that I have defeated the sewing machine nerves, it is time to work on the lining of my poor knit bag project that has been languishing since April. Wish me luck!
Yay, you. Cute bag. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I got the lining done finally so just a tad more finishing to do and my waiting-zince-April project will be done!
DeleteCongrats on your sewing project. I think it turned out nicely. I started sewing when I was five or six. I guess, you could say it's my first crafting love. Knitting, is a very close second. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have four sewing machines, 1960's Singer Mechanical, Brother computerized sewing machine, Brother computerized Sewing and Embroidery machine and a Serger.
My daughter started hand sewing she was five. She moved on to machine sewing when she was eight. A few weeks ago, she made a pillow case and then a tablet case for her Wacom Splash. Her first big project is going to be leggings. I'm letting her pick out the material she likes from Fabric Mart, it's an online Fabric Store, great prices and a huge selection of fabric.
Thanks! :) I still have a long way to go before I'm a proficient sewer, but I look forward to learning more! Also, I think leggings would be an awesome project!
